This month, we got to learn more about Kevin Komisar of Vision Security Technologies. A Nashville Native, he flew the nest to study PR and Marketing at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa in 1991, where he also played football for the Crimson Tide. He returned to Tennessee to coach football at Tennessee State University in 1996, to stay in his home state for good.
While coaching at TSU, Kevin continued his studies at Trevecca Nazarene University, this time earning a degree in education. For the next ten years, he spent his time edifying Nashville by coaching football, wrestling, and track & field as well as teaching Physical Education and Health & Wellness at Metro Nashville Public Schools.
In 2011, Kevin decided to join his brother Barry who owns Vision Security Technologies, a security integration company. The corporate office is based out of Birmingham, Alabama. He became an Account Manager with the company, eventually managing the branch office here in Nashville. He still has his hand in account and project management as well as marketing in the area, securing and managing such clients as Vanderbilt University.
Vision Security Technologies handles sales, installation, and service for government, healthcare, utilities, educational, industrial, as well as transit facilities. These security solutions include intrusion, video surveillance, access control and audio. Lately, they’ve been moving into working with drone detection, facial recognition as well as license plate capture and recognition.
Kevin shared that Vision Security Technologies will soon be branching out to Memphis, as Vision grows. He credits the growth to attention to the service aspect of their industry as well as offering cutting edge technology.
