Though Nashville is known for its nightlife and entertainment scene, the city also offers a plethora of activities that are great for families and kids.
- Visit Nashville Parks
This is a great activity, especially during the Summer. Nashville has 108 parks that amount to over 12,000 acres of open space. So, there’s plenty of options to choose from. During the Summer months, parks host a variety of community and live music events. Free parks you can visit include the Bicentennial Capitol Mall, Centennial Park, and Fort Negley.
- Visit the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum
Kids enjoy music too and one way to keep the kids and teens entertained is to visit Nashville’s Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. It’s an educational experience that offers interactive exhibits, unique galleries, recording and trivia stations, and much more.
- Visit the Nashville Children’s Theater
Founded in 1931, this theater is a nonprofit organization that organizes and puts on plays, acting classes, and summer camps. Regardless of the season, this is a great place to take kids and catch a great show. The facilities were recently renovated, and the theater also offers several amenities to help parents have a great experience.
- The Nashville Zoo
The Nashville Zoo is home to outdoor trails, different bird species, bears, leopards, and plenty of other exotic animals. The zoo also offers several educational talks like how they take care of the animals, where they’re native from, etc. There’s also a zipline ride, a Wild Animal Carousel, and a Wilderness Express Train.
- Adventure Science Center
This nonprofit organization is known for sparking the curiosity and creativity of kids. There are over 150 hands-on exhibits that cover six topics: Earth Science, Creativity and Innovation, Sound and Light, Air and Space, Health, and Energy. The center boasts a 15,000 square foot Space Chase, an exhibition that explores many wonders of the universe.
